Young Writers

So many writers stop before they even start...

Young people love telling stories.

But too many believe:

  • They aren’t good enough

  • You have to be a ‘proper writer’

Creativity is only worthwhile if it comes with a mark out of 20

Studies have shown the many benefits of creative writing for adolescents. These include:

  • Reduces anxiety and stress helping them process complex emotions

  • Aids problem solving, metacognition and abstract thinking

  • Builds self confidence and helps shape their identity

  • Encourages empathy and understanding other points of view

(Evidence from Pennebaker, McAdams & other writing studies)

I loved writing stories as a child and often wished I could find a place to share them with others.

Now I get to offer others what my younger self craved.
