My workout last night was especially miserable. I should have known it would be bad when Mack didn't even stretch and we just went into a gazillion "mountainclimbers." Then we did a bunch of pushups and some calf raises and he separated us out to different sections of the floor. I got put on the "wall" with the guys and we had to do "suicides" touching seams on the floor. I think we did 6 sets. We then had to do frog leaps (which totally suck) and duck walks back and forth across the floor. I could barely breathe and started developing a cough (which I had all night and still have right now). Then he had the guys do single leg presses (where you stand against the wall and have someone hold your arm on the other side and bend down to below knee level and raise up). He told me to stay on the wall to do more suicides (the ladies of the class had now joined me) and I said "are you kidding?" We ll..... that was about all it took. He went off on me about "whining" (of course I'm coughing the entire time) and then kept talking about it and how I would have had an excellent class if I hadn't whined.....it really really got annoying. He pulled me aside after class and kept talking to me about it and (between coughs) I just said "yes sir." (I mean...really...what else do you really say in that situation?) He then said that I needed to change my "defeated body language"...which is a hard thing to do when you're coughing and getting yelled at. He told me that he wants me to be physically and mentally prepared for my Foreign Service assessment. If it involves coughing or getting yelled at....I'm getting a lot of good experience. Anyway, Thursday night (my next class) is definitely going to be a treat.
